Following the directives of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police continues its targeted operations to apprehend dangerous fugitives fleeing abroad. In a recent successful operation, Punjab Police has arrested two wanted criminals involved in murder cases from the United Arab Emirates. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the first fugitive, Ali Raza, was wanted in a 2023 murder case in Bhagtanwala, Sargodha, where he killed a citizen, Zafar Iqbal, over a past feud. The second fugitive, Muhammad Nadir, was wanted by Kot Mubarak Police Station, Dera Ghazi Khan, in a double-murder case. He had killed two citizens, Muhammad Din and Muhammad Bakhsh, in a dispute. Punjab Police, with the support of Interpol, issued Red Notices for both criminals and continued their efforts to apprehend them. The UAE police successfully arrested the criminals and handed them over to Punjab Police. The fugitives were taken into custody by the Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan police at Lahore Airport. Spokesperson Punjab Police also shared that the total number of fugitives arrested from abroad this year has now reached 91. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the DPOs of Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan for their successful operation and instructed that legal proceedings be completed to ensure the criminals receive appropriate punishment. Dr. Usman Anwar further emphasized the need for enhanced coordination with the FIA and Interpol to apprehend more high-risk criminals and facilitate their swift repatriation to Pakistan.
