Punjab Police conducted another a successful operation: proclaimed offender Wanted in Murder case arrested from Bahrain After 8 Years

This Year, 89 proclaimed offenders Have Been Arrested and extradited from Abroad, Punjab Police Spokesperson

Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has continued its successful crackdown on the arrest and extradition of dangerous A-category criminals from abroad. In a recent operation, Punjab Police successfully apprehended a fugitive wanted in a murder case after 8 years, arresting him in Bahrain and bringing him back to Pakistan. Spokesperson for the Punjab Police said that the total number of dangerous fugitives arrested from foreign countries this year has now reached 88. Proclaimed offender Waseem Akram, was wanted for a 2016 murder in which he shot and killed one person and injured two women over a family dispute. Wasim Akram had been evading arrest by the Fateh Jhang Police in District Attock for the past eight years. The Attock Police had issued an Interpol Red Notice for the arrest of the criminal and had actively pursued his arrest. Bahraini authorities apprehended him and handed him over to the Punjab Police.

Following the successful operation, IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended the efforts of the RPO Rawalpindi and DPO Attock, directed them to ensure that the legal process is completed and that the accused receives appropriate punishment. He further directed that, with the assistance of the FIA and Interpol, other dangerous fugitives be apprehended and brought back to Pakistan to face justice.
