Mission to Eradicate Heinous Crimes: Punjab Police Actively Engaged in Targeting Dangerous Criminals Across the Province

On the directive of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the mission to eradicate heinous crimes is progressing rapidly across the province. Punjab Police continues to conduct intelligence-based operations day and night to apprehend dangerous criminals. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, this year, 5,736 criminal gangs involved in heinous offenses have been busted. A total of 14,316 gang criminals have been arrested across Punjab, including Lahore. Recovered from the criminals were properties and stolen goods valued at over Rs. 6.14 billion rupees, including 1,662 vehicles, 25,093 motorcycles, 2,233 tolas of gold, 10,311 mobile phones, and 5,497 livestock, all of which were returned to their owners. Additionally, Rs. 6.19 billion in cash was recovered from criminals wanted in various cases. While giving details regarding the ongoing operations in the provincial capital, spokesperson Punjab police shared that in Lahore alone, 3,198 gangs were busted, resulting in the arrest of 7,338 criminals. Stolen goods worth over Rs. 2.098 billion rupees were recovered in Lahore, including 909 vehicles, 14,155 motorcycles, 5,264 mobile phones, 206 tolas of gold, and 125 livestock. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the police teams for their excellent performance in cracking down on dangerous gangs. He instructed them to intensify intelligence-based operations and crackdowns against organized crime. He further directed that more professional criminals involved in serious crimes such as robbery, murder, and abduction should be brought to justice.
