Checkposts on Punjab-KP border being upgraded

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The checkposts along the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) border are being upgraded to ensure the foolproof security of Punjab’s boundary. Dera Ghazi Khan Regional Police Officer (RPO) retired Capt Sajjad Hasan Khan conducted emergency inspection of the posts, reviewed the security protocols in place, the deployment of personnel, and the progress of construction projects at these crucial border points. The RPO ordered completion of building reinforcements and installation of advanced thermal cameras to enhance surveillance capabilities. During his visit, he highlighted the necessity for round-the-clock vigilance, ordering officers to stay alert and ready for any situation. He instructed the officials to conduct regular drills to maintain preparedness and ensure effective response in the event of an emergency. The RPO urged the force to use modern monitoring systems, such as the smart vehicle apprehension system and the automatic vehicle location system, to strengthen border security operations. He also acknowledged the past success in repelling five terrorist attacks at these checkposts, praising the courage and discipline of the personnel stationed at the border. He said the checkposts would soon be equipped with more advanced weaponry to bolster security efforts. He distributed certificates of appreciation among the personnel for demonstrating exemplary performance.
