IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Chaired Police Welfare Board Meeting, Senior Officers Attend

 

Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that over 1.80 billion rupees have been disbursed across various welfare categories for the police force this year. More than 625 million rupees have been spent on educational scholarships. Dr. Usman Anwar mentioned that further improvements are being made to the welfare policy regarding educational scholarships for the children of employees. He expressed these views while presiding over a Police Welfare Board meeting, where detailed discussions were held on the welfare of police personnel and their families. Senior officers presented solid recommendations to enhance the welfare policies, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare. During the meeting, it was approved to immediately disburse two months’ basic salary to the families of employees who pass away during service, and three months’ basic salary to the families of those who attain martyrdom. Previously, the disbursement of such funds took some time. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the recommendations on various issues be finalized and presented for approval in the next meeting.

 

The meeting was attended by senior officers, including Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IG Punjab, Additional IG Traffic, Additional IG CTD, MD Safe City Authority, Additional IG PHP, Additional IG IAB, and DIG Welfare.
