Punjab Highway Patrol: Actively Ensuring Compliance with Highway Laws and Safeguarding the Citizens across the Province.
Performance report for this month released, over 1.2 million citizens and more than 500,000 vehicles checked via e-Police Post app.
Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) teams are actively working across the province to ensure the safety of the public, prevent accidents, and maintain smooth traffic flow on highways. IG Punjab has instructed PHP teams in all districts to enhance field patrolling in their designated areas and prioritize improved measures for crime prevention as well as assisting and guiding citizens. He expressed these views while reviewing the performance of the Punjab Highway Patrol.
Punjab Highway Patrol is dedicated to enforcing laws on highways and serving and protecting citizens throughout the province. In this regard, PHP has released its performance report for the first two weeks of October. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, PHP has checked a total of 1,284,736 individuals on highways using the e-Police Post app this month. During these checks, 265 wanted criminals were apprehended, and 560,388 vehicles were inspected, 94 stolen vehicles and motorcycles were recovered. Under axle load management regulations, legal action was taken against 9,537 overloaded vehicles, and 565 vehicles were penalized for illegal use of gas cylinders. To facilitate citizens, 6,649 driving licenses were issued. Sixteen missing children were reunited with their parents, while 89 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow. Punjab highway patrol also assisted 4,326 travelers with various types of support and services were provided to 6,750 citizens at police service centers. Twenty-four cases of illegal weapons were registered, and 742 liters of alcohol along with 5 kilograms of heroin were seized from drug dealers. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended the PHP force for their excellent performance and issued directives for sustained efforts and dedication in ensuring traffic flow, as well as serving and protecting citizens.
