IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar: A Beacon of Hope for the Sick Children of Police Employees
Over 73 Million Rupees Spent This Year on Treatment of 894 Children Under the the “Hamaray Phool” Project, Punjab Police Spokesperson
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, continues to implement historic measures for the best treatment of sick children of police employees, inspiring hope and resilience in the lives of thousands of children. According to the spokesperson for Punjab Police, financial assistance for medical expenses for children suffering from serious illnesses is being provided without interruption under the “Hamaray Phool” project. In the first nine months of this year, over 73 million rupees have been spent on the treatment of 894 children.
According to the details that 582 children suffering from cerebral palsy have received 33.75 million rupees, while 152 children with thalassemia were granted 13.365 million rupees. Monthly stipned for medical expenses are being provided to children affected by cerebral palsy and thalassemia. Additionally, 9 million rupees were spent on cochlear implant surgeries for 6 children, and around 4 million rupees were used for cancer and bone marrow transplant treatments for 15 children. Approximately 3.5 million rupees were spent on surgeries for 13 children with heart, kidney, and other organ issues. Over 7.2 million rupees were allocated for immediate medical financial assistance for 60 children. More than 2.2 million rupees were spent on the treatment of 38 children with hearing impairments, and 28 children with physical disabilities were provided with state-of-the-art wheelchairs.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the Punjab Police is a family, and the swift recovery of sick children is a top priority. He added that last year, 95 million rupees were spent on their treatment, and this year, more health grants have been initiated. The scope of cooperation will be further expanded.
