Additional IG Operations Punjab, Shehzada Sultan chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office. The meeting was attended via video link by RPOs and DPOs from Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur, as well as traffic officers. The discussion focused on key performance indicators, hardcore policing, traffic management, service center performance, FIR registration, crime control, investigation matters, measures to combat drug trafficking, law and order handling, and progress in addressing complaints received at 1787 compliant center. The meeting also covered the protection of women and vulnerable groups, administrative matters, grievance redressal, security, and service delivery.
Additional IG Operations Punjab Shehzada Sultan instructed that immediate contact with complainants regarding issues reported to 1787 should be ensured, and effective monitoring mechanisms should be implemented to address these complaints while adhering to timelines. He emphasized the need for increased action against drug trafficking and illegal weapons, improved field patrolling, and better response times to enhance road safety. He also directed that crackdowns on encroachments and smog be intensified in collaboration with district administration, pending challans be completed, offenders be apprehended and receive appropriate punishment, and efforts to prevent motorcycle theft and snatching be stepped up. Additionally, he stressed the importance of improving recovery rates, increasing licensing, and ensuring easy access to digital services at service centers. The meeting was attended by DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir, AIG Operations, AIG Monitoring, AIG Complaints, and other relevant officers.
