Another Major Operation by Punjab Police Special Operations Cell: Fugitive Wanted in Murder Case Arrested from Oman
The total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from abroad this year has reached 73. Punjab Police spokesperson.
Punjab Police Special Operations Cell has carried out another significant operation, apprehending a dangerous proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case from Oman and brought him back to Pakistan. The proclaimed offender, Yasser Iqbal, was wanted for the murder of a citizen in Ali Pur Chatta area in 2008 and had been on the run for the past 16 years. Special Operations Cell, through Interpol's assistance, successfully captured the proclaimed offender from Oman. Upon arrival at Lahore Airport, a team from Gujranwala Police took the proclaimed offender into custody. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the total number of proclaimed offenders apprehended from abroad this year has reached 73.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended RPO Gujranwala Tayyab Hafeez Cheema and CPO Rana Ayaz Saleem for their effective supervision in capturing the A-category dangerous fugitive. IG Punjab directed that legal proceedings be expedited to ensure the criminal receives appropriate punishment and emphasized further cooperation with Interpol and FIA to capture and extradite other dangerous criminals.
