Punjab Police Rahim Yar Khan exchanged heavy gunfire with Armed Robbers; One Dangerous Robber Killed
The deceased robber has been identified as Asif alias Mithu Chandia. A Kalashnikov and ammunition were recovered.
Following the directives of Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police continues its crackdown on dangerous criminals, robbers, and anti-social elements. In line with these efforts, a dangerous robber was neutralized in a gunfight with armed robbers in Rahim Yar Khan. The deceased robber has been identified as Asif alias Mithu Chandia. A Kalashnikov and ammunition were also recovered from the scene. The killed robber was a notorious criminal with a record of serious offenses including murder, robbery, theft, and firing at police. He was wanted in numerous serious cases.
According to spokesperson for Punjab Police, the police received information about six armed suspects attempting to rob a citizen on a public road in Mohalla Bahar Khakhi. In response to this information, Shidani Police took prompt action. During the pursuit, a gunfight erupted with the armed suspects. One robber was killed by his own accomplices' gunfire, while the others escaped into the darkness. Police recovered the stolen motorcycle, cash, and the motorcycle used by the accused. The body of the deceased robber has been transferred to the hospital, and special teams have been formed to apprehend the fleeing robbers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the police team for thwarting the robbery attempt.
