IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Commends Punjab Police for Excellent Security during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Celebrations
Over 55,000 officers and officials provided foolproof security for 1,581 Milad gatherings and 2,467 processions and rallies across the province.
Dr. Usman Anwar visited the Central Control Room and the Home Department's control rooms in the Civil Secretariat to review the security arrangements.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar has praised the Punjab Police for peaceful conduct, excellent security, and traffic management during the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations across the province. IG Punjab commended the performance of the CCPO Lahore, RPOs, DPOs, and traffic police officers. Dr. Usman Anwar said that exceptional teamwork ensured foolproof security for the celebrations. The Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, and Elite Force provided effective patrolling, while all police units, allied departments, and security agencies demonstrated excellent working relationships. The role of police officers and personnel, as well as the cooperation from scholars, peace committees, citizens, and media, was highly commendable.
IG Punjab visited the Central Control Room of Punjab Police to review the security arrangements for the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal celebration, Dr. Usman Anwar assessed the law and order situation, as well as the security arrangements for processions, rallies, and gatherings. Inspector Hamid Mahmood, in charge of the Central Police Office Control Room, briefed IG Punjab on the reports received from police control rooms. Dr. Usman Anwar also visited the Home Department’s control room in the Civil Secretariat to evaluate security measures for central procession routes across the province, accompanied by Additional IG CTD Wasim Sial, Special Secretary Interior Fazal Rehman, and other relevant officials.
For the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations, Punjab Police ensured stringent security measures, with over 55,000 officers and personnel deployed for 1,581 Milad gatherings and 2,467 processions. In Lahore, 255 processions and over 225 Milad gatherings were held, with more than 10,000 officers, personnel, and community volunteers managing security duties. Traditional and modern policing resources were utilized, including additional personnel at sensitive locations and monitoring through Safe City Authority cameras. Coordination with peace committees, scholars, and community leaders was ensured promoting interfaith harmony and tolerance during the celebrations.
