12th Rabi-ul-Awwal: IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar chaired an important meeting to review security measures

Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office to review the security arrangements for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations. All RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs across the province participated via video link. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar reviewed the security arrangements for the province during the celebrations of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. Across the province, 1581 Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ gatherings and 2467 processions and rallies will be held, with more than 55,000 officers and personnel from Punjab Police deployed for security duties. In Lahore, 255 processions and over 225 Milad gatherings will take place during the Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ celebrations, where more than 10,000 officers, personnel, and volunteers will be on security duty.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar instructed that all processions, rallies, routes, and gatherings on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal should be provided full security. IGP Punjab directed RPOs, DPOs, commissioners, and deputy commissioners to personally inspect the security and other arrangements. Considering the current national situation, he emphasized that the security of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal events is of utmost importance. He directed that early clearance of sensitive spots and flashpoints through coordination with all stakeholders. No one should be allowed to take the law into their own hands, and close surveillance should be maintained on terrorists, miscreants, and anti-state elements. IG Punjab also encouraged religious scholars to promote interfaith and sectarian harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect during the celebrations. Senior officers, including Additional IG Punjab, Additional IG Operations, and DIG Operations Punjab, were present at the meeting.
