IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar pinned new ranks on 28 officers who were promoted from Inspector to DSP rank
More than 1500 new departmental promotions across various cadres and ranks will take place in this year, IG Punjab.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar has pinned the new rank on 28 officers promoted from Inspector to DSP. A ceremony was held at the Central Police Office to celebrate the promotion of these officers, during which a large number of their parents, children, and families attended. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, along with senior officers, placed the ranks on the newly promoted DSPs and extended congratulations to both the promoted officers and their families.
In his address, IG Punjab announced that over 1,500 departmental promotions across various cadres and ranks will take place this year. He further added that soon, a board will convene for the promotion of over 80 Sub-Inspectors to the rank of Inspector. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the supervisory role and feedback of DSPs in sub-divisional policing, which is of great importance. In his speech to the officers, IG Punjab highlighted that law and order, terrorism, and religious hatred are the most critical challenges facing the police. He directed them to stand firm like an iron wall against miscreants at border checkpoints and in Kacha areas. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed the officers to serve the public selflessly and protect them fearlessly, in return for their promotions and welfare. He stressed the use of modern technology, advanced information, and the importance of delivering high-quality services and ensuring easy access to justice. He also mentioned that the constabulary is the foundation of successful policing, and constant communication and problem-solving should be prioritized. Dr. Usman Anwar directed the officers to hold open courts and ensure the implementation of SOPs and protocols at Special Initiative Police Stations. IG further said that the culture of recommendations for recruitment, promotions, and postings within Punjab Police has been eradicated, boosting confidence in the force's transparency-based service structure and promotion system. Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, DIG Headquarters/MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younas, and DIG Establishment-I Sulaiman Sultan Rana were also present at the event.
