Another Brave Punjab Police Officer Martyred in the Line of Duty

 

Another brave officer of the Punjab Police has embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, attended the funeral prayer of martyred police officer Constable Arshad Rauf at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh. A ceremonial police guard paid tribute to the martyred officer with a Guard of Honor. IG Punjab met with Arshad Rauf's family, including his brothers, and assured them of full cooperation and support.

 

IG Punjab said that Constable Arshad Rauf sacrificed his life in the line of duty, and Punjab Police will never forget his supreme sacrifice. Dr. Usman Anwar assured that the welfare of Arshad Rauf's family will be fully ensured without any shortcomings. Dr. Usman Anwar added that Punjab Police is the custodian of over 1,600 martyrs and 1,700 ghazis like Arshad Rauf. He directed that the culprits responsible for firing at Arshad Rauf be swiftly brought to justice.

 

Earlier, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar took notice of the incident and sought a report from CCPO Lahore. He instructed DIG Operations Lahore to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects involved in the shooting and to utilize all resources in their apprehension. Constable Arshad Rauf, during his duty with the Mohafiz team in Islampura, tried to stop suspicious motorcyclists, who instead of stopping, opened fire. Arshad Rauf was shot in the chest and embraced martyrdom. Constable Arshad Rauf is survived by four sisters and three brothers.
