Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ Celebrations: Punjab Police Finalize Security Arrangements for Milad Gatherings, Rallies, and Processions*

Over 55,000 officers and personnel will be deployed to secure 1,581 Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ gatherings and 2,467 processions across the province: Punjab Police spokesperson.

Under the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has completed security arrangements for the blessed melad gatherings, rallies, and processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that full security would be provided for the celebrations across the province, including Lahore, with security on high alert. Close monitoring will be maintained on miscreants and anti-national elements, and security arrangements will be monitored in real-time through special control rooms.

Punjab Police spokesperson revealed that 1,581 Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ gatherings and 2,467 processions and rallies are being organized across the province, for which over 55,000 officers and personnel will be deployed for security duties. In Lahore alone, 255 processions and over 225 gatherings will take place, with more than 10,000 officers, personnel, and volunteers providing security. Both traditional and modern policing resources will be utilized for the security of the gatherings, processions, and rallies, with the support of Traffic Police, Elite, Special Branch, and CTD teams. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, emphasized that strict security arrangements will be ensured for processions and gatherings of categories A, B, and C, following the already issued SOPs. In sensitive cities, events will be monitored through Safe City cameras. He also directed that peace committees, scholars, and community leaders at the district level be consulted and their suggestions considered. Furthermore, all RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs are instructed to personally oversee the security arrangements for the Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ celebrations. Special attention will be given to real-time monitoring of security from control rooms.
