Under the supervision of Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police is actively engaged in eradicating the dangerous criminals across the province. The mission to eliminate serious crimes continues uninterrupted in all districts, including Lahore. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, this year alone, 4,646 criminal gangs involved in serious offenses were busted, and 11,636 criminals were arrested. Stolen properties worth Rs. 7.61 billion were recovered from these criminals, which included 1,303 vehicles, 19,431 motorcycles, 1,957 tolas of gold, 7,978 mobile phones, and 3,241 livestock, all of which were returned to their rightful owners.
Spokesperson of Punjab Police also shared that more than Rs. 4.79 billion in cash was recovered from criminals involved in various offenses. In Lahore, the crackdown led to the busted of 2,628 gangs and the arrest of 6,033 members. Over Rs. 4.31 billion worth of stolen property was recovered from these criminals. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised the police teams for their excellent performance in targeting dangerous gangs. He further instructed that the crackdown be intensified to completely eradicate organized crime. Dr. Anwar emphasized that professional criminals involved in serious offenses such as robbery, murder, and abduction should be brought to justice. He also directed police teams to eliminate criminals in hotspot areas through effective planning and targeted operations, utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and properties of citizens and combat crime.
