Another Successful Operation by Punjab Police Special Operations Cell: Dangerous proclaimed offender arrested and extradited from Saudi Arabia after 6 Years.

Under the directives of Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police have intensified its crackdown against proclaimed offenders and fugitives residing abroad. In the latest successful operation, Punjab Police Special Operations Cell arrested a dangerous fugitive who had been on the run for six years from Saudi Arabia. The fugitive, Ghulam Abbas, had been wanted by Gujranwala Police since 2018 in a case involving the kidnapping of a woman and attempted murder.
The Special Operations Cell had an Interpol Red Notice issued for the fugitive and, through close coordination with Saudi police, managed to capture him. The Saudi police deported the fugitive to Pakistan, where the Special Operations Cell took him into custody at the airport. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the total number of fugitives arrested from abroad this year has reached 70.
IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended the RPO and CPO Gujranwala for successfully arresting the fugitive from abroad and directed that legal proceedings be swiftly completed to ensure the criminal is appropriately punished. He also directed that the crackdown on other fugitives involved in serious crimes be intensified, with further arrests and extraditions facilitated through collaboration with Interpol and FIA.
