Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Vision of a Safe Punjab: Over 150,000 Criminals wanted in various crimes arrested across the province

Following the Safe Punjab vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Police continues its crackdown against the criminals across the province. Over 150,000 criminals wanted in various cases have been arrested. According to the details that this year, more than 91,000 proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes have been apprehended in Lahore and across the province. Among these are 14,513 Category A offenders and 76,866 Category B offenders. Approximately 49,000 judicial absconders were also captured, including 3,718 Category A and 45,272 Category B absconders. Additionally, 23,246 habitual offenders (target offenders) were arrested, including 9,914 Category A and 13,332 Category B offenders. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that 69 wanted criminals were apprehended from foreign countries and brought back to Pakistan.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the police teams on their successful operations and directed that an acceleration of the crackdown. IG Punjab emphasized that effective investigations should lead to the swift completion of cases and ensure appropriate punishments for criminals. He also directed that Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) personally oversee the crackdown and targeted operations against dangerous criminals wanted in high profile cases.
