IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar’s Chaired an Important Meeting on Development Projects
IG Punjab reviewed the progress in the construction of police stations and smart police stations across various districts.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that 39 smart police stations across the province, including Lahore, are advancing rapidly towards completion. The construction of these smart police stations is expected to save the government approximately 4.5 billion rupees. Dr. Usman Anwar explained that previously, the cost of building a police station was around 200 to 250 million rupees, but these new smart police stations, designed with modern architecture and multipurpose facilities, will now cost between 60 to 100 million rupees each. Dr. Usman Anwar said that a total of 99 police stations are under construction across various districts in Punjab. All smart police stations will be functional according to special initiative protocols and standard operating procedures. He noted that these stations were previously housed in rented buildings in densely populated areas. The new smart police stations are being constructed on 1 to 2 kanal plots in these areas.
In Lahore, 22 smart police stations are being built, with 3 in Multan, 2 each in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rahim Yar Khan, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot, and 1 each in Attock, Gujrat, Sahiwal, and Sheikhupura. These remarks were made by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar during a meeting held today at the Central Police Office. The meeting reviewed the progress of construction work for police stations and smart police stations across the province. The meeting was attended by AIG Development Sahibzada Bilal Omar and RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs from the Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, and Sheikhupura regions.
