Important operation of Punjab Police/ another dangerous criminal wanted in murder case arrested after 16 years
Proclaimed offender Fahad Mahmood shot and killed a citizen named Sufyan in Gujranwala in 2008.
Under the direction of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the crackdown of the Punjab Police is continuing to arrest dangerous fugitives and proclaimed offenders who have escaped abroad, in continuation of which punjab police has arrested another A category wanted criminal of murder case after 16 years. According to the details, Fahad Mehmood, the proclaimed offender, shot and killed a citizen named Sufyan in Gujranwala in 2008, the criminal later escaped abroad via an illegal route (dunki). Proclaimed offender Fahid Mehmood obtained a Pakistani passport in Greece, on which the Special Operations Cell issued a red notice for the arrest of proclaimed offender and continued efforts to arrest the dangerous criminal. Finally, the fugitive was arrested at Lahore Airport on Sunday night before boarding the flight to Greece. The Gujranwala police took the proclaimed offender into custody from the airport. The spokesman of the Punjab Police said that the total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from abroad this year has reached 67.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the RPO Gujranwala and CPO Gujranwala for arresting the dangerous criminal through effective action. IG Punjab said that the arrest of Fahad Mehmood was possible after 16 years due to the good strategy of the Special Operations Cell. IG Punjab directed that the crackdown should be accelerated to arrest other dangerous criminals of A category.
