Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar extended heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistani nation on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day from the police force. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that independence is a precious blessing from Allah Almighty. On August 14, we renew our pledge not to shy away from any sacrifice for the safety, progress, and prosperity of our homeland. IG Punjab said that proud nations celebrate their Independence Day with dignity, and while enjoying the celebrations, citizens should not abandon national pride and cultural decorum. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the more than 1,638 martyrs of Punjab Police in the line of duty are a symbol of undying love for the motherland. Following the directions of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has completed security arrangements for the programs held on the 78th Independence Day of our beloved country. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that security will be on high alert on Independence Day, with a close watch on miscreants and anti-state elements. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that foolproof security will be provided for the Independence Day celebrations and to the citizens. IG Punjab said that the CCPO Lahore, RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs will personally supervise the security and traffic arrangements for Independence Day. Strict action will be taken without discrimination against those involved in hooliganism, one-wheeling, aerial firing, road blocking, and harassing women. Dr. Usman Anwar urged citizens to fully enjoy independence day activities while adhering to Islamic values and national culture, without compromising on decency. IG Punjab emphasized that the police, Special Branch, CTD, intelligence agencies, patrolling, Dolphin Squad, PERU, and traffic police will ensure the best possible arrangements. Police officers and personnel will leave no stone unturned in providing a peaceful environment for citizens to celebrate Independence Day.
Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that foolproof security will be provided for more than 450 programs across the province, including Lahore, on Independence Day. These programs include 07 in the A+ category, 47 in the A category, and 370 in the B category. Spokesperson further said that more than 30,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed for security and traffic management across the province, including Lahore. A total of 311 Elite Force, 163 QRF teams, 811 patrolling vehicles, and 1,460 motorcycle-riding teams will perform security duties. The security arrangements will be assisted by 150 walk-through gates and 1,500 metal detectors. All activities will be fully monitored through the cameras of the Safe Cities Authority. Spokesperson of Punjab Police added that in the provincial capital, more than 10,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed for security and traffic arrangements.
