Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's Drug Free Punjab Vision: Punjab Police accelerated the crackdown against the drugs

In one day, 400 raids were conducted across the province, 185 accused were arrested, 184 cases were registered, and dozens kilograms of drugs were recovered. Spokesperson Punjab Police

Following the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's drug-free Punjab vision, Punjab Police has accelerated the crackdown against the menace of drugs. Targeted operations of police teams are going on uninterruptedly in all the districts of the province to root out the menace of drugs. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that in one day, 400 raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province including Lahore. 185 accused involved in the nefarious business of drugs were arrested, 184 cases were registered. 131 kg charas, 02 kg heroin, 01 kg Ice, 1418 liters of liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that during the special campaign that started on February 26, 42067 raids were conducted by police teams on the hideouts of drug dealers across Punjab. 20064 accused involved in drug trafficking were arrested and 19534 cases were registered.11972 kg of charas, 66 kg of ice, 232 kg of heroin, 294 kg of opium, more than 17 lakh 26 thousand liters of alcohol were also recovered from the possession of the accused. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that RPOs, DPOs to speed up intelligence-based operations against drug dealers and smugglers. IGP Punjab said that actions against hotspot areas and elements involved in online buying and selling of drugs should be speeded up. IG Punjab further said that the search & combing operations should be continued regularly in educational institutions and surroundings and criminals involved in inter-provincial and inter-district trafficking of drugs should be brought to justice and punished.
