Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s safe Punjab Vision: Punjab Police continues strict crackdown to eliminate illegal weapons.

In compliance of the safe Punjab vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police continues strict crackdown to eliminate illegal weapons from all the districts of the province including Lahore. Police teams are working day and night to clean all the districts of the province from illegal weapons. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that thousands of dangerous firearms weapons, bullets and cartridges have been recovered this year during the special campaign.  In the special campaign that has been going on since January, 1022 Kalashnikovs, 27634 pistols, 2124 guns, 1952 rifles, 441 revolvers and more than 01 lakh 79 thousand bullets and cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused throughout the province. In the provincial capital, 100 Kalashnikovs, 5813 pistols, 422 rifles, 224 guns, 41 revolvers and more than 34 thousand bullets were recovered from the accused.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed strict legal action against the accused involved in aerial firing and display of weapons on social media.IG Punjab said that the process of license and stock inspection of dealers involved in arms business should also be continued regularly, while RPOs, DPOs should send weekly reports of the ongoing crackdown to the Central Police Office to eradicate illegal arms.
