Brother turns out to be ‘killer’ of youth

NAROWAL: Police claimed on Tuesday to have solved a blind murder case and arrested the elder brother of the victim for fratricide in Rehmanpura locality of Narowal city. According to the district police spokesman, on July 24, a call was received on police helpline 15 that unknown suspect(s) have strangled a young man, Husnain Sabir (20), a resident of Prana Wahla village.District Police Officer Muhammad Naveed Malik, taking notice of the murder, formed a police investigation team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Malik Khalil. Narowal city police registered an FIR against the unknown killer on the complaint of Samiullah, the victim’s elder brother.

DSP Khalil, along with Station House Officer (SHO) Umar Zaman started the investigation into blind murder case. The DSP told the media that the investigation team used intelligence sources, CCTV cameras and modern technology to trace the killer, who turned out to be the victim’s elder brother and complainant, Samiullah. He says that the suspect has confessed to have killed his younger brother because he would forbid him to develop relations with a girl. The DPO has announced cash reward and certificates of appreciation for the members of the investigation team for solving the blind murder case in just 11 days.
