Punjab Police's Community Policing initiative: A Commendable Initiative for Resolving Citizens' Issues.
Supervisory officers across all districts visited local mosques on Friday to listen to citizens' concerns.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that solutions to citizens' issues will be ensured at the grassroots level.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has initiated another commendable measure to enhance the delivery of justice and policing services, as well as to promote community policing. Following Dr. Usman Anwar's directives, RPOs, DPOs, and other senior police officers visited local mosques after Friday prayers. The senior officers listened to citizens' issues, issued directives for their resolution, and informed the public about the services and facilities provided by the police.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the role and importance of mosques in societal reform, development, and progress cannot be denied. IG Punjab emphasized that, in line with the spirit and teachings of Islam, mosques will be established as centers for community engagement. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed that senior officers should use mosques to listen to citizens' issues at their doorstep and ensure timely resolution. IG Punjab also advised police officers to inform citizens about the modern services and facilities provided by the police so they can easily avail themselves of these services when needed. Dr. Usman Anwar reaffirmed that efforts are being made to further strengthen the liaison, cooperation, and trust between the police and the community. Every possible measure will continue to be taken to maintain peace, promote societal reform, and ensure justice for citizens.
