On the directions of the Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the crackdown of Punjab Police is continuing to protect precious human lives with metal strings and kites, intelligence-based targeted operations have been accelerated in all districts. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that 10,953 cases were registered in the ongoing anti-kite flying campaign across the province including Lahore, 11,498 suspects involved in blood sports and business were arrested and legal action was taken. More than 632,000 kites and more than 34 thousand metal string wheels were recovered from the accused.
Spokesman Punjab Police said that 2466 accused were arrested while registering 2401 cases in the provincial capital during the current year, 49 thousand kites and 2154 metal string wheels were recovered from the accused. IG Punjab directed to intensify the crackdown against kite flying across the province and said that criminals who play with human lives do not deserve any relaxation. IG Punjab directed that targeted operations under the leadership of circle officers should be speeded up, the accused involved in online business should be brought under the grip of law and punished.
