LAHORE:Pakistan’s first Virtual Women Police Station, established within the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), has arrested the parents who were arranging the marriage of their 12-year-old daughter. The parents were marrying their underage daughter to a foreign national for financial gain. As per details, Virtual Women Police Station received a call from the neighbours upon which they immediately dispatched the police team to the scene, which stopped the forced marriage. The girl's parents and the Nikaah Khvaan were taken into custody and legal proceedings were initiated. The PSCA spokesperson stated that the Virtual Women Police Station is active 24/7 to resolve issues faced by women, including harassment, domestic violence, forced marriage, and acid attacks. He said women can contact the Virtual Women Police Station by calling 15 in any emergency.
