Four booked for setting youth ablaze over property row

MUZAFFARGARH: Seetpur police on Monday registered a case against four people who allegedly set a youth ablaze over a property dispute in Basti Juma Khan, Mouza Mithanwali, some 120 kilometers from the city area. Police said the incident occurred in Seetpur of Alipur tehsil where opponents allegedly burnt a boy, Ihsanullah, alive. The boy’s family stated in the first information report that there was a land dispute with the opponents. Police said an investigation is ongoing, and raids are being conducted to arrest the suspects. According to the FIR, complainant Muhammad Bashir said while he and his son were returning home after getting medicine, he saw his nephew Ihsanullah tied to a tree. He witnessed four people, one of whom was sprinkling petrol on Ihsanullah while the others set him on fire.

He claimed that he and his son took the injured to Alipur Rural Health Centre for treatment. On the way, Ihsanullah told him that Allah Bachaya, Muhammad Rasheed, Babu and Yusuf had tied him to a tree and set him on fire. Ihsanullah died on way to Nishtar Hospital, Multan. The body was sent for a postmortem examination and on the order of DPO Syed Hasnain Haider, a murder case was registered against the suspects under sections 34 and 302 of Pakistan Penal Code. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar took notice of the incident, seeking a report from the DG Khan regional police officer and ordering immediate arrest of the suspects.
