MUZAFFARGARH: The Alipur police saved the lives of three family members who attempted suicide at Head Panjand on Saturday. Due to the timely intervention by police officials, the lives of a woman and her two children were spared. According to reports, a woman from Vesandiwali, along with her 10-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter, tried to jump into Head Panjand to end their lives due to domestic issues. Head Constable Qazi Kashif and Constable Muhammad Ayaz, who were on duty at the site, acted to prevent the tragedy. The woman, identified as Samina, was forcibly taking her children towards the canal when the officials intervened. Upon questioning, Samina said that she was driven to the desperate act due to her husband’s abuse. Constable Ayaz took the family into custody and reported the incident to the police station. The station house officer called the woman’s relatives, who arrived at the police station to take custody of the children. The family said they were grateful to the police for their timely assistance. The police assured that stern action would be taken against the abusive husband in accordance with the law.
