IG orders issuing Rs750m for families of 362 cops

LAHORE : Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has taken a commendable step for the welfare of the families of police employees who died during service. This initiative has alleviated the financial difficulties of the families of deceased police employees. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has issued orders to grant Rs750 million to the families of 362 employees who died during service in various districts, including Lahore. IG Punjab said that the families of every police employee who died during service will receive an immediate financial grant according to the rules and regulations. He further mentioned that Rs10 million is being spent daily on various welfare initiatives for the force. This year, over Rs1.3 billion is being spent on funds for employees and their families. IG Punjab emphasised that the issues of police employees regarding health, education, weddings, pensions, and other matters are being resolved promptly. He instructed supervisory officers to maintain close liaison with their subordinates and provide all possible relief. Dr Usman Anwar assured that the Central Police Office will continue to address the issues faced by employees through the Police Welfare Fund and welfare resources, ensuring immediate relief.
