Under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police's crackdown against metallic kite strings and kite flyers continues across all districts of the province, including Lahore, to protect precious human lives and thousands of lawbreakers involved in this illegal trade and dangerous activity have been brought to justice. Punjab Police spokesperson said that since February 26, 4306 cases have been registered, and 4441 accused involved in this dangerous sport and trade have been arrested. Seizures from the culprits included 247,078 kites and 17,089 spools of metallic string.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs to intensify the uninterrupted crackdown across the province, ensuring that those involved in the online business of kites and metallic strings are apprehended and given appropriate punishments. IG Punjab emphasized that criminals endangering human lives deserve no leniency , Dr. Usman Anwar ordered that targeted operations led by circle officers should be intensified across the province.
