Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar visited Kot Abdul Malik, the residence of ASI Muhammad Nawaz of PHP, who embraced martyrdom by firing of dacoits in Sheikhupura area. IG Punjab met with the mother, children, and other family members of the martyred ASI Muhammad Nawaz, offering prayers for the elevation of the martyr's ranks and reciting Fatiha for the repose of his soul. IG Punjab consoled the mother of ASI Muhammad Nawaz and expressed affection towards his young children. Dr. Usman offered a job in the police department to the wife of the martyred ASI. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the family of the martyred ASI would be provided with a house, and the police department would bear the educational expenses of his children. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the unparalleled sacrifice of ASI Muhammad Nawaz, noting that he sacrificed his life in the line of duty. IG Punjab assured that the family of the martyred officer would not be left alone and that their welfare would be taken care of. Spokesperson for Punjab Police said that ASI Muhammad Nawaz, while on duty in Qila Sattar Shah, stopped suspicious individuals on a motorcycle. The motorcyclists, who were robbers, fired instead of stopping. Muhammad Nawaz was martyred after being shot in the chest, while one of the assailants was killed in return fire by the police. During the visit of IG Punjab to the martyr's home, SP Punjab Highway Patrol Lahore Region Fatah Ahmad and other senior officers were also present.
