05th Muharram & Friday: Punjab Police ensured foolproof security arrangements across the province.
37597 police officers & officials performed security duties of 3830 Majalis and 547 processions organized across the province.
Under the direction of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, on the occasion of 05th Muharram & Friday, police teams diligently performed the security duties of mosques, Imambargahs, Majalis and Muharram processions across the province. On the instructions of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the security of religious places, processions and majalis has been increased. Spokesman of Punjab Police said that 3830 Majalis & 547 mourning processions were held across Punjab. 42 processions and 410 majalis are being held in the provincial capital, which included 45 majlis of A category. In total 37597 police officers & personnel, Elite, special police personnel were deployed for the security of majalis and processions across the province. While the volunteers are also provided assistance to the police in the security of majalis and processions. Spokesman of Punjab Police said that more than 25 thousand officers and officials were deployed for the security of 3830 Majalis held across the province while more than 12 thousand officers and personnel were deployed for the security of 547 processions. On the directions of IG Punjab, RPOs, DPOs personally supervised the Muharram security plan and fool-proof arrangements have been ensured for the security of the citizens in all districts. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that monitoring of the security arrangements of majalis and processions is being ensured from control rooms and CCTV cameras. IG Punjab directed the officers that the officials posted on the routes of Imambargahs and processions should remain more vigilant and keep a close watch on the miscreants during the rainy season.
