Heavy rain in different areas of Punjab: Punjab Police teams actively participated in relief activities

During the heavy rain in various areas of Punjab including the provincial capital, Punjab Police diligently performed Muharram security duty, police teams played an active role in relief activities with full diligence and responsibility beside ensuring the protection of life and property of citizens. On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the officers and officials of Punjab Police remained on high alert and participated in the relief activities in the rain-affected areas. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the police officers and officials performed their duties more diligently during the rains for security of processions and majalis. All supervisory officers personally monitored the relief activities in the rain-affected areas in their districts beside ensure timely action. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police is in constant contact with PDMA, district administration, rescue organizations regarding rescue and relief activities. The details of the damage caused by the rain are also being monitored from the control rooms of the Punjab Police. IG Punjab directed the RPOs, DPOs to review the rescue and relief activities in the field themselves. Police officers and officials provided full support to WASA and other institutions in draining water from rain-affected roads including Lahore. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that due to the rain, the relevant institutions are providing full support in rescuing the affected citizens. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed all the supervisory officers that in view of the possibility of more rain in the coming days, police officers and personnel should remain on high alert and respond immediately in any emergency situation.
