Mission to eradicate heinous crimes: Punjab Police actively engaged in vigorous crackdown across the province to suppress dangerous criminals.
In the first half of this year, 3176 gangs involved in serious crimes were eradicated, 7934 criminals were arrested, stolen property worth billions was recovered, Punjab Police Spokesman.
Under the direction of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police is continuing its mission to eliminate serious crimes and suppress dangerous criminals in all the districts of the province including Lahore. The report of ongoing crackdown by police teams in the first half of this year has been released.
According to the details, from January to June this year, 3176 gangs involved in serious crimes were eliminated and 7934 criminals were arrested in all the districts of the province including Lahore. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that in police operations across the province, including Lahore, stolen property worth Rs. 05 billion 33 crore was recovered from the possession of criminals, while 03 billion 42 crore rupees cash was also recovered from wanted criminals in various incidents. Spokesman Punjab Police said that 947 vehicles, 13835 motorcycles, 1292 tolas of gold were also recovered from the possession of criminals, while 5593 mobile phones and 3233 cattle were recovered and handed over to their owners.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has commended the police teams for their excellent performance in suppressing crimes and directed to further intensified the crackdown to root out drugs and organized crime. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that by identifying the crime hotspot areas, the criminals should be wiped out through targeted operations with the effective use of modern technology.
