Punjab Police intensifies its crackdown on fugitive criminals involved in serious crimes residing abroad.
Another A category fugitive wanted in a murder case has been arrested from Muscat, raising the total number of fugitives arrested this year to 49.
On the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has intensified the crackdown against fugitive criminals involved in serious crimes and residing abroad. In a recent operation, Punjab Police arrested another fugitive criminal wanted in a murder case from Muscat. The fugitive, Imran Ali, had been wanted by Attock District Police since 2017. He had murdered a citizen by shooting in the jurisdiction of Hassan Abdal Police Station. Punjab Police had an Interpol red notice issued for the suspect and continuously followed up on the case. The Oman Police arrested the suspect and handed him over to Punjab Police. A Punjab Police team took custody of the suspect at the airport. Spokesperson for Punjab Police said that the total number of fugitives arrested from abroad this year has reached 49.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar while congratulating the police team for the arrest of a dangerous fugitive from Muscat, said that the crackdown should be intensified to arrest other dangerous criminals of A category. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that, with the cooperation of Interpol and FIA, more fugitives should be arrested and brought back to Pakistan. He stressed the need to complete legal proceedings promptly to ensure appropriate punishments are handed out.
