LAHORE:An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in the Shahdara Town area. The victim had come to upstairs to put clothes to dry. The suspect Gulfam finding an opportunity assaulted the girl. She cried for help. When her father went to rescue her, the suspect hurled threats at him also. Police registered a case and arrested the suspect. Meanwhile, a kidnapping bid of a 2.5-year-old girl was foiled by Garden Town police outside Lahore General Hospital. The girl had come for checkup with her father. She mistakenly lost hand of her father and was looking for him. The suspect Ghulam Abbas when spotted her crying for help tried to kidnap her. A patrolling police team took notice of the matter. They arrested the suspect, recovered the girl and handed her over to her father after searching him.
