LAHORE: Inspector General Police Dr Usman Anwar has announced distributing Rs470 million in educational scholarships among the 6,820 children of police employees this year. The scholarships cover various degree programmes, including Rs21m for 262 PhD and MPhil students, Rs73.5m for 224 MBBS and BDS students, Rs41.8m for 489 IT degree students, Rs14.1m for 115 engineering students, Rs190m for 2,579 BS Honors students, Rs60m for 2,388 intermediate students and Rs30m for 334 students who have memorised the Holy Quran. Scholarships were awarded for law, business education, matriculation, and other degree programmes.
