AHORE: Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar has directed police officials to formulate a security plan for all districts, including Lahore, to ensure peaceful religious processions and gatherings during Muharram. He asked police officers to resolve all issues in advance through consultation with scholars and peace committees. Dr Anwar instructed regional and district police officers to personally supervise security arrangements, utilising modern equipment like CCTV cameras, walk-through gates, and metal detectors. He said there should be no compromise on minority citizens’ security and timely registration of FIRs, investigations, and challaning of cases. The IG also reviewed performance analysis mechanisms, crime control, development works, and public service delivery.
