Punjab Police arranged a special event at Tahafuz Darsgah at jallo on second day of Eid-ul-Azha
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar attended the event, spending time with destitute transgender children
On the second day of Eid-ul-Azha, Punjab Police organized a special event at Tahafuz Darsgah Jallo, attended by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, who spent time with destitute transgender children. Chairman of UK CAB Zahid Bhatti, Member of National Assembly Saba Sadiq, Trustee of UK CAB Naushin Naqvi, social worker Dr. Farhana Kazim, and senior police officers also attended the event. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police's Tahafuz Darsgah is a unique welfare project in the country, providing shelter, food, and quality education and training for destitute transgender children. He highlighted that Tahafuz Darsgah, completed in record time near Jallo Forest, is an excellent example of community policing, offering quality education from junior to secondary classes to transgender children. the transgender children residing at Tahafuz Darsgah performed tableaus and other acts during the event. The establishment of Tahafuz Darsgah was a collaborative effort between Punjab Police and the private welfare organization UK Curriculum Accreditation Body.
Member of National Assembly Saba Sadiq praised Punjab Police's initiative to provide housing, education, and a bright future for destitute transgender children. Chairman Zahid Bhatti said that IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar had signed an MOU a few months ago for the establishment of Tahafuz Manzil. Dr. Usman Anwar said that steps have been taken for the education and vocational training of transgender children residing at Tahafuz Darsgah, with vocational training facilities available for transgender individuals above 18 years of age.
