SAHIWAL: A farm labourer was allegedly kidnapped, stripped and severely tortured by some influential persons at Sado Piplee village of Pakpattan tehsil on Eid day. The incident came to light when a footage of the incident was uploaded on social media. Pakpattan District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Walayat took notice of the incident and on his orders Sadar police arrested two of the suspects, Ikram and Idrees. The police says they are looking for the victim, Ubaid Shah, who has gone into hiding, to record his statement. However, the police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Azam Shah. Eyewitnesses says that Ubaid had exchanged words with the suspects, Akram and Idrees, who kidnapped, stripped and tortured him to teach him a lesson.
