LAHORE. Over 18,705 complaints from women across Punjab, including Lahore, were received at Women Virtual Police Stations. Investigations are ongoing in 1,482 cases, and emphasis is being placed on expediting 1,948 cases. FIRS were registered in 1,524 cases based on women's complaints. In 50 days, 228 FIRS for domestic disputes, 67 for child abuse, and 186 for harassment were registered. FIRS for 223 cases of rape, 80 attempted murders, 41 murders, 6 acid attacks, and 339 other offenses were registered. Out of the total cases, 13,751 were resolved due to reconciliation between parties or other reasons. The Safe Cities Authority spokesper- son stated that "women are seeking guidance from the Virtual Women Police Station daily to resolve their issues. Complaints filed at the station include harassment, domestic violence, disputes, and other domestic issues. Women are being provided guidance at all stages, from the registration of FIRS to investigation and trial.
