LAHORE: In a landmark operation spearheaded by District Police Officer Tariq Wallayat, the Pakpattan police has successfully arrested a total of 1,344 prclaimed offenders, including 122 high- profile "A Category" offenders, over the past five months. This significant achievement marks a substantial step forward in the district's ongoing battle against crime and social unrest,The extensive operation also resulted in the recovery of a staggering 17 crores and 70 lakhs rupees from various criminals, dacoits, and thieves. These recovered funds were promptly returned to their rightful owners, further demonstrating the police department's commitment to justice and community service. In addition to apprehending proclaimed offenders, the Pakpattan police arrested 877 absconding criminals and 689 drug traffickers.
This aggressive crackdown on drugrelated activities led to the seizure of 364 kilograms of charas, 32 kilograms of hashish, one kilogram of heroin, 6,932 liters of alcohol, and 1,559 liters of lahn. Moreover, 28 active stills used for the illegal production of alcohol were dismantled during the operation.The operation also focused on curbing illegal arms possession within the district. A total of 344 cases were registered against individuals found in possession of illegal weapons. The police seized an impressive array of arms, including 24 rifles, 282 pistols, 32 guns, and 1,380 live bullets. The relentless efforts of the police led to the dismantling of 30 criminal gangs and the arrest of 119 hardened criminals.
