IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar awarded IG Police Ghazi Medals to 17 crime fighters officials from DG Khan region.
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the recognition of the services of the brave soldiers of the police force who were shot by the criminals while protecting the lives and property of the citizens continues. Since the commencement of this appreciation program in March 2023, a total of 1969 officers have been declared Ghazis of the police force. IG Punjab mentioned that 196 officers were declared Ghazis in the first five months of this year. These officers exhibited exemplary performance during the Kacha operations, police encounters, raids, law and order duties, and other special assignments. IG Punjab emphasized that no medal, certificate, or award can replace the invaluable sacrifices of our brave officers. IG Punjab added that over 1.2 billion rupees have been spent on police force welfare this year, including 400 million rupees in scholarships and 280 million rupees in medical financial grants, the acknowledgement of the services of brave police officers will continue through excellent medical welfare and other measures. He expressed these thoughts while addressing officers and personnel at a ceremony held today at the Central Police Office.
A ceremony was held at the Central Police Office in recognition of the unparalleled sacrifices of Punjab Police's brave Ghazis. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, awarded IG Police Ghazi Medals to 17 crime fighters from the DG Khan region. 8 officers from DG Khan district, 6 from Rajanpur, 2 from Muzaffargarh, and 1 from Layyah were honored with IG Police Ghazi Medals. Among the recipients from DG Khan Police were ASI Iqbal Hussain, Head Constable Tahir Saeed, Constables Munir Akhtar, Mazhar Nawaz, Muhammad Toqeer, Abdul Hameed, Saqlain Nawaz, and Ejaz Hussain, Constable Muhammad Imran from Layyah, Sub-Inspector Zafar Iqbal and Constable Muhammad Asad Zameer from Muzaffargarh. From Rajanpur, Constables Ayaz Ahmed, Muzammil Abbas, Habib ullah, Muhammad Ali, Hasnain Fareed, and Muhammad Aleem were awarded IG Police Ghazi Silver Medals. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that the best medical welfare for the brave Ghazis is a top priority, and every possible treatment is being provided for their speedy recovery.The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Punjab, Additional IG Welfare, SP Civil Lines Lahore, SP Traffic Sadar Lahore, and AIG Inspection, who also paid tribute to the services of the Ghazi officers.
