Funeral prayers of martyred police constables held, who embraced martyrdom while fighting the dangerous dacoits in Rahim Yar Khan

Funeral prayers for martyred constables Muhammad Shafiq and Zeeshan Khurram, who embraced martyrdom while fighting the dangerous criminals in the Sheedani area of Rahim Yar Khan, was held at Sadiq Shaheed Police Lines. RPO Bahawalpur, DPO Rahim Yar Khan, senior police officers, officials, and a large number of citizens attended the funeral. The families of the martyred officers, district administration, political & social figures and media personalities also attended the funeral prayers. Special prayers were offered for the high ranks of the martyrs officials, and active police contingent presented honorary salute to the brave martyrs.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that martyred constables displayed unparalleled courage and bravery in confronting the dacoits. He emphasized that the families of the brave martyrs are part of the punjab police and their welfare is the responsibility of the police department. RPO Bahawalpur Rai Babar Saeed said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain, and the culprits will soon be brought to justice. After the funeral prayers, the bodies of both martyrs were sent to their native areas of Zahir Pir and Pacca Laran with official protocol for burial.

Driver Constable Shafiq Ahmad and Constable Zeeshan Khurram were martyred in the line of duty during a shootout with dacoits in the Sheedani area of Rahim Yar Khan. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar took notice of the incident and sought a report from the RPO Bahawalpur. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid tribute to the great sacrifice of the constables who achieved martyrdom while protecting the lives and property of citizens. He also ordered the provision of the best medical facilities for injured personnel Muhammad Ishaq and directed DPO Rahim Yar Khan to ensure the immediate arrest of the criminals involved in the shooting. IG Punjab instructed RPO Bahawalpur and DPO Rahim Yar Khan to promptly contact and take care of the families of the martyred constables. He reaffirmed that Punjab Police, as the custodian of over 1600 martyrs, will not abandon the families of the brave martyred officers.
