Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif's directive to speed up crackdown against electricity thieves

Punjab Police has registered more than 99 thousand 700 cases against electricity thieves across the province, Spokesman of Punjab Police.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police has expedited the crackdowns against electricity thieves across the province. In response to CM directives, Punjab Police has registered over 99,700 cases against electricity thieves throughout the province. More than 71,600 individuals involved in electricity theft have been arrested from across the province. Challans of over 69,500 cases of electricity theft have been completely submitted. Around 17,800 individuals who caused losses to the national exchequer have been fined and sentenced to Jail.

Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that 660 police officers in each district, including Lahore, are assisting in the ongoing campaign against electricity thieves. He emphasized the need to further accelerate the crackdown against electricity thieves across the province and to continue taking strict and indiscriminate action against those causing losses to the national treasury.
