On the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police's crackdown on law breakers causing environmental pollution by burning stubble is going on across the province. In the past 24 hours, 16 cases have been registered and 3 accused have been arrested across the province. According to the Punjab Police spokesman, a total of 139 cases have been registered and 109 suspects have been arrested for stubble burning. In the provincial capital, 4 cases have been registered and 1 accused has been arrested. IG Punjab has instructed to intensify the crackdown against those involved in violating the law and causing air pollution and increase in smog by burning crop residue, he emphasized that strict actions should be taken indiscriminately against all offenders.
