Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said in a special video message for the force regarding the welfare fund that 116 crore rupees were spent on the welfare of the force from January 1 to April 30 this year. About one crore rupees is being provided daily for the welfare of the police force and their families in various categories. Dr. Usman Anwar said that this year 350 crore rupees will be spent on the welfare of the police force. All this money will come from the investment of the fund deducted from the salaries of the police force, the income received from police welfare sources. Dr. Usman Anwar said that last year more than 200 crores were spent on the welfare of the force and the fund of educational scholarships was increased from 09 crores to 85 crores. Dr. Usman Anwar said that despite high expenditure, the total amount of Police Welfare Fund is gradually increasing instead of decreasing. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is arranging cochlear implant surgeries for hearing impaired children of police employees. Hundreds of children affected by thalassemia and cerebral palsy are being given monthly stipends for treatment. IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police Welfare Fund has been increased to Rs 1300 crores. This increase in welfare fund was made possible due to the better strategy of field officers, leadership of Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gara, DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin. IG Punjab said that the police force should focus on the service and safety of the people and the department will not leave any stone unturned in measures for their best welfare.
