On the instructions of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, PHP is actively serving the citizens in protecting their lives and making highways more secure across the province

Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) headquarters released the weekly performance report.

Following the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Highway Patrol under the vision of "safe roads for the people" are actively serving citizens in protecting their lives & properties, preventing accidents, enforcement of laws and ensuring smooth flow of traffic on the highways across the province. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the PHP teams should further enhance field patrolling in their respective beat areas and steps should be taken on priority basis to help and guide the citizens as well as with crime prevention. Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) headquarters has issued a weekly performance report.

According to the details, PHP teams checked 8 lakh, 31 thousand, 8 hundred and 49 people on highways through e-Police Post App during the last week, during checking, 110 proclaimed offenders /judicial fugitives were arrested. During the checking of 4 lakh 32 thousand 6 hundred 28 vehicles, 67 stolen vehicles / motorcycles were recovered. Under the road safety campaign, 63 thousand 6 hundred 21 e-challans were issued for violations of traffic rules. 30 thousand 870 overloaded vehicles were challaned for violation of axle load and 26 million rupees were deposited in the treasury as fine.

Spokesman of Punjab Police said that legal action was taken against 284 vehicles for illegal use of gas cylinders, in view of the convenience of the citizens, 3496 driving licenses were issued. 18 missing children reunited with their parents, Improved traffic flow by removing 69 temporary and permanent encroachments. 2262 passengers were provided various types of assistance and guidance. Various facilities were provided to 1412 citizens at police khidmat centers. 19 cases were registered for using illegal weapons. 378 liters of alcohol, 53200 grams of charas and 2200 grams of opium were recovered from drug dealers. 99.8 percent of the citizens expressed a positive opinion about the performance of the Punjab Highway Patrol. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed the PHP to perform their duties more diligently with the high spirit of service to the citizens.
