During last 24 hours, Punjab Police conducted 369 raids across the province, 178 cases were registered, 182 accused were arrested, spokesman of Punjab Police.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif's drug free Punjab campaign is going on steadily across the Punjab and under the leadership of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the police teams have intensified the crackdown across the province. Spokesman of Punjab Police said that during the last 24 hours, police teams raided 369 hideouts of drug dealers across the province, 178 cases were registered against the accused involved in the heinous business and 182 accused were arrested. 81 kg of charas, 47 grams of Ice, 1762 liters of liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused.
Spokesman Punjab of Police further said that 22,364 raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers during the ongoing Drug Free Punjab campaign since February 26. 10949 accused involved in nefarious business were arrested while 10420 cases were registered. 6969 kg of charas, 118 kg of heroin, more than 221 kg of opium, more than 34 and a half kg of Ice and 134480 liters of alcohol were recovered from the possession of the accused. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed to intensify the ongoing campaign to eradicate the scourge of drugs. IGP Punjab said that intelligence-based operations around educational institutions and hostels should be continued regularly. IG Punjab further said that hotspot areas and big drug dealers should be eliminated through effective use of modern technology and human intelligence. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the awareness campaign against drugs should be continued with the cooperation of parents, teachers and civil society.
